New to film, Shyamala ventured into the medium during the pandemic, when live performance was not an option, and fell in love with it. She brought her background in ensemble work, choreography and devised theater with her and so far has directed two short films. The films have been widely circulated on the Film Festival circuit and celebrated with numerous awards!
