Shyamala enjoys interdisciplinary approaches to performance and brings together her backgrounds in contemporary dance, devised theater, multimedia, yoga and community organizing.  She has toured two of her own solo shows that she created with TeAda Productions, and has specialized in directing others’ solo shows as well as larger ensemble works.  In all her work, Shyamala has a keen eye for detail and an intuitive sense for unlocking compelling material in an organic way.
