Shyamala is dusting off RISE, a solo show created in 2003, but markedly relevant to Indian politics today. First made with TeAda productions it has been performed at colleges, theaters and in Festivals in the US and in Canada. RISE will be featured in the opening plenary of the upcoming UC Irvine South Asia Graduate Student Conference “Interrogating South Asia.”
